How does the Corporate Membership work at Indian
Hill?
A corporate membership is designed to be held by a business
entity (e.g. LLC, Corporation, DBA, etc). That business entity can
elect 5 people (designated representatives) to be under the Corporate
Membership and those five people will have the Limited Membership
Classification. For a reduction in dues, corporate members must
bring out a certain dollar amount of guests (guest minimum).
Corporate members do not pay greens fees and can play anytime that the
classification allows. A corporate member is not restricted to
playing solely for corporate reasons but can play in tournaments or
bring friends.
What kind of documents do I need to get a Corporate
Membership?
Any person can sign up for a single person corporate membership,
it is only when designated representatives are added to the corporate membership
that you will need to supply proof that the designated representatives are involved
with the business. Forms include W-2 & UC-5. Other form will
be decided on a case by case basis.
What is a designated Representative?
The designated representative is a person the corporation wants
to be listed as a member under the corporation's membership. There
can be one (1) to five (5) designated representatives.
Can I change the name of the designated representative?
In January a corporate member can change one or all of the
designated representatives. During the rest of the year corporate
members may change only 1 designated representative at a cost of $500.
Who should sign up for a Corporate Membership?
Our corporate membership is geared towards smaller businesses
that entertain clients, suppliers, or employees. If you plan
tournaments or bring lots of guests - the corporate membership is for
you. As an example, you organize a small tournament for your
business that hold about 60 players. Since you are planning to
entertain which exceeds the guest minimum for one designated
representative you basically get a $3600 membership for $1800.
I don't plan to bring a lot of guests or I don't
organize large groups to play, can I still do the corporate membership?
Yes, but it is not advisable. The guest minimum is much
harder to obtain than most people realize, especially if they do not do
a lot of entertaining. If you do not achieve the guest minimum,
the cost of the corporate membership far exceeds the cost of a regular
membership.
I want my team to have full membership rights and
play without the need to bring guests, should I do the corporate
membership?
No. As the corporate membership does not permit weekend
morning play your team would not have full access. In your case,
you should just purchase individual memberships which would allow them
full access.
